A trained engineer, he began his career with the Indian Navy, developing the discipline and technical expertise that remained central to his approach. He later joined the Merchant Navy and rose to the rank of Chief Engineer, gaining international exposure and valuable insights into technology, global trade, sourcing and supply chains.

After an entrepreneurial beginning in textile manufacturing and retail, he ventured into the chemical and consumer-products industry with a vision of creating employment and serving the community. He founded Excella in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, initially with washing powder, and gradually expanded into hand wash, floor cleaners and other household and industrial cleaning solutions.

Drawing on his technical and international experience, he introduced modern machinery and established a strong supply and distribution network, enabling Excella to serve customers across Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana.

Beyond business, Mr. Sharma was passionate about education and knowledge sharing, dedicating his time to teaching and supporting students.
